This Privacy Policy explains how CALRI (“CALRI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our mobile applications, website, recipes, calculators, meal planner, AI food recognition features, subscriptions, support tools, and related services collectively called the “Services.”
CALRI is designed to help users track calories, understand nutrition, scan meals, save recipes, plan meals, and review progress. Because nutrition and meal-tracking features can involve sensitive personal information, we describe our practices clearly so users can make informed choices.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details such as name, email address, login method, and profile settings.
- Nutrition and goal information such as age range, height, weight, activity level, dietary preferences, calorie goals, macro targets, meal history, recipes, notes, and progress entries.
- Photos or images you choose to upload or scan for AI food recognition.
- Support messages, feedback, survey responses, and information you send through contact forms.
- Subscription or purchase status. Payment card details are processed by the App Store, Google Play, or payment providers and are not stored by CALRI.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information such as device type, operating system, app version, browser type, language, time zone, crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data.
- Usage information such as pages viewed, features used, recipe searches, calculator interactions, meal-planner activity, button clicks, and approximate session activity.
- Approximate location derived from IP address, used for security, analytics, localization, and compliance.
- Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on the website to remember preferences, improve performance, and measure traffic.
App Permissions
Depending on the features you use, CALRI may request permission to access your camera, photo library, notifications, or other device features. Camera and photo access are used to let you scan meals, upload food images, or attach images to food logs. You can manage permissions in your device settings. If you deny a permission, the related feature may not work.
How We Use Information
- Provide calorie tracking, macro tracking, meal scanning, recipe browsing, calculator results, and meal planning.
- Estimate nutrition information from meals, ingredients, images, and user inputs.
- Personalize goals, tips, recommendations, reminders, and app experience.
- Maintain accounts, subscriptions, customer support, security, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
- Analyze feature performance, troubleshoot crashes, improve user experience, and develop new features.
- Send transactional messages, product updates, security notices, and optional marketing where permitted.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
AI Food Recognition and Nutrition Estimates
When you use AI food recognition or nutrition analysis, CALRI may process your uploaded image, meal description, ingredients, and related nutrition goals to generate estimated foods, calories, macros, and insights. AI results are estimates and may be inaccurate. CALRI is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information in these limited situations:
- With service providers that host infrastructure, process analytics, provide crash reporting, support app functionality, send communications, or assist with customer support.
- With App Store, Google Play, and payment providers to verify purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and entitlement status.
- With AI, cloud, image-processing, or nutrition-analysis providers when needed to operate meal scanning and related features.
- For legal, safety, fraud prevention, or compliance reasons when required by law or necessary to protect CALRI, users, or the public.
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain user accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and improve the Services. Meal logs, uploaded images, and nutrition history may remain in your account until you delete them or request deletion, subject to backup, legal, and security retention limits.
Your Choices and Rights
- You can update or delete certain account, meal, and preference information in the app where available.
- You can manage camera, photo, notification, and tracking permissions through your device settings.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.
- You may request access, correction, deletion, export, or restriction of personal information by contacting us.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under privacy laws such as state privacy laws, GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar rules.
Children’s Privacy
CALRI is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child provided personal information to CALRI, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and device access.
International Users
CALRI may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from your local laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
Third-Party Services
The Services may link to third-party websites, app stores, analytics tools, payment services, or content. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. CALRI is not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
